Shanghai and Qidong

Breezy weekend on a road trip out of Shanghai, we stopped at an orchard full of pears, persimmons, watermelons, pumpkins and beans, to harvest grapes for the boys’ school next week. I realized I’ve not travelled in China for leisure, for 20 years and I’d forgotten the feels! It has not been crowded, with good availability for flights and hotels. The boys have so far learned to say Roblox <罗布乐思> and Lego <乐高> in Chinese and are a bit shocked at the number of people who have smoked, spat and wee-ed in front of them.
