CA-MT-WY-WA-OR: scenes from the road. Some lovely photos the boys sent to reassure me that they are managing well (although I do see a fair amount of instant noodles!) and doing homework. They had a great time sampling flavours at the Tillamook creamery, spent the last of their allowance at Voodoo doughnuts and Powell’s used books in Portland and are on route to Mt Hood, which I’ve learnt is not a National Park but a National Forest (the distinction surrounds having conservation status but not locking up the commercial value of grazing and timber because public lands don’t pay tax). I felt rather envious, until they also told me that dad got them to help empty the poop tank.
